Konaseema belongs to the Eastern Andhra Pradesh region where Godavari gets surplus and flows freely throughout. Of late, this land is getting into the lime light because of “Papi Kondalu”, a popular tourist attraction. A boat ride through the waters of Godavari, in between the chain of mountains is definitely worth going. As a Nature-enthusiast, I can guarantee the pleasure of scenic beauty. You can find abundant information about this ride and the hills in many WebPages. Hence, I don’t want to get redundant. I want to talk about other natural pleasures that I have enjoyed other than papikondalu.

Konaseema is filled with coconut trees and is extremely rich in flora and fauna. Hire a cab and take a ride through the villages of East and West Godavari districts and you will be convinced about the evolving Kerala.

All through the journey, no matter which place you visit, a stream of River Godavari escorts you on either side of the road. On the edges of these little streams, you can find the coconut trees and other forms of greenery lined up giving you a true visual treat. The residents are found living and surviving on the water. At many places I have found connecting foot over bridges to the road.

I was told that few tributaries originate from the back-waters of the sea, as the river dives into Bay of Bengal in this region. Also, few tributaries are the canals that are created for irrigation purpose. Regardless of the origin, these look very natural and give you a Kerala-Greenery kind of look.

Enough of description and here are some pics that can speak better.…
