I know the title simulates Koffee with Karan,..indeed we’ve actually been to a Coffee shop but dint want to have one. On the flipside, we’ve enjoyed the delicious Sandwiches, Muffins and Tarts.
Okay…Now this is getting a little out of context..here’s the intro about this small outing by our GOG(Gang of Gals). We are five of us for now including Vidya, Sangeetha, Meenakshi, Srilakshmi and myself. We work together in the same team while Sri happens to leave for another firm. So made it a reason for all of us to meet, gossip about everything under sun and treat ourselves.
After several chat sessions and mails we’ve decided the date, time and venue to be a Thursday, 5:00 pm either at Shilparamam or Barista. But predicting the unpredictable….the Hyd weather we opted to stay sheltered and headed for Barista. We, four of us got out of office at 5:20pm or so and tried looking for an auto. An auto-wala demanded 35 bucks and we resisted to pay so much. Vidya tried a hand on her bargaining skills and finally convinced him for meter charge with an extra 5 rupee on the amount. Ironically, the meter turned out to 29.80 and we had to pay him 35 with out any choice….We all squeezed ourselves in it and never felt the pain since all of us were so engrossed in numerous topics starting from Hi-tech city surroundings to Vidya’s bird watching trip to Bull’s attack to 2 wheeler driving to Vaideeswaran Kovel and so on…Thankfully, there wasn’t much traffic so in no time we reached the place. The coffee shop looked cozy enough to comfort us. We went straight to the “Seats of Demand” where the cushioned sofas were put up. After a 10 min wait, Sri arrived in her bindaas look. She looked smart in her new hairstyle.
We’ve started updating her one by one on all the happenings, Whoz the next Manager? Whoz next in row for resignation? Whoz flirting with whom? Whoz getting married and whose heart is broken? Whoz looking for a change?
There is one funny lady in our team who is looking out in the same company where Sri is currently employed. Apparently, our gang tries to stay a little away from her. Hence had good time pulling Sri’s leg about “Where ever Sri goes, network follows”.
Once we were done with the major current affairs…we’ve placed an order…unfortunately, it is self-service outlet which was quite boring for us. We chose, a Texas-potato sandwich, a paneer-veg sandwich, a blueberry muffin, a walnut muffin and 2 chocolate tarts. The locale was not as pleasant as expected. We had an additional activity to keep away the flies around and a couple of dead ones were lying on the floor….we wondered on the maintenance. We started to feast ourselves beginning with the sandwiches and Vidya initiated slicing them into 2 halves. So recognizing her competency to cut, we’ve rewarded her with a new title” Cutter”. Lolzzz….
I was the only odd man….oops..woman out not to touch anything except the texas potato. That’s because of my health reasons, but yeah I did taste a bit of everything since I dint want to disappoint my taste buds as well my buddies.
Soon we were able to finish all of them and ordered 2 more Paneer Veg sandwiches. I was first one to leave the place since I had some house hold work and Satya was on his way to pick me up. It was 6:20 pm by the time I left the premises. The other four dispersed at 7:00 pm with heavy tummies…hehehe.
It’s a feel good factor to meet up once in a while and energize ourselves. In other words, a change in routine always keeps the mind& heart fit!
